Ellen F. (Cosgrove) Pitts

Ellen F. (Cosgrove) Pitts, 79, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on June 3, 2020. Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Francis X. and Helen M. (Banks) Cosgrove. A devout Catholic, Ellen was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and served as a Eucharistic minister. Amongst other work, she had also been employed at Christo’s for many years until retiring. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Ellen was the beloved wife of the late William E. Pitts Jr. for over 58 years, before his passing in March; loving mother of William Pitts III and his wife Karen of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Kathaleen and her husband Stephen Wallace of Chelmsford, and Mary and her husband William Bertocchi of Brockton; dear grandmother of Mark Pitts, Ryan, Craig and Colleen Wallace, and William Jr., Tyler, Isabella and Abigail Bertocchi; sister of John Cosgrove and his wife Gloria of San Antonio, Texas, Kathleen Cosgrove of Quincy, Margaret Tenore and her late husband Joseph of Braintree, and the late Mary Patricia Watson and her late husband Robert; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. Her funeral is private but as soon as possible a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be announced.
