Eleanor W. (Repeta) Wright

Eleanor W. (Repeta) Wright, 89, of Brockton, passed away December 14, 2025.

Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Bruno and Wanda (Piekut) Repeta, she went to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School and graduated from Holy Family High School there. Ellie earned a bachelor’s degree from College Misericordia in Pennsylvania then attended Simmons College in Boston where she graduated from a physical therapy program. She worked as a licensed physical therapist for Holbrook VNA then for South Shore Hospital for many years until retirement. In younger years Ellie enjoyed ceramics then handpainted home décor items; she was a talented seamstress as well.

Ellie was a devout Roman Catholic who lived her faith. She was an active communicant at St. Joseph Church in Holbrook, St. Nicholas Church in Abington and St. Edward/St. Edith Stein Parish in recent years; she was a Eucharistic minister for homebound Catholics and she and her husband were daily communicants and altar servers. Ellie was given the Bishop Cheverus Medal Award by Sean Cardinal O’Malley for her humble service to her parish and its people.

Ellie was the beloved wife of William W. Wright for over 63 years, loving mother of Cheryl Cadmus (and her husband Steve) of Easton, Daniel Wright (and his wife Michelle) of Graham N.C. and Michael Wright (and his wife Ileen) of Easton, dear grandmother of Rebecca (Matthew), Nicholas, Kathryn (Andrew), Derek, Tayllor, Rachel and Lauren, great-grandmother of Eleanor and Harlan, and sister of Bruno Repeta of Sarasota FL.

All are welcome to calling hours Sunday December 21st from 1 to 5 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Monday December 22nd from Waitt Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Church and burial at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
