Eleanor M. (Farricy) Hunter

Eleanor M. (Farricy) Hunter, 92, of The Woods at Merrimack in Methuen for the past 2 years, passed away Sept. 3, 2023 peacefully at home under hospice care. Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Hayward) Farricy. Eleanor spent most of her life residing in Avon. She was retired from H & R Block as a registered agent. Along with her late husband Frederick W. Hunter, they were accomplished competitive ice-skaters. She was a past President of Cohasset Ice Skating Club and an ice skating judge for many years. She also owned Bayskater Books.

Eleanor was the beloved mother of William Hunter and his wife Katherine of Medford, Robert Hunter and his wife Dena of Manchester, N.H., and Carolyn Boyd of Penacook, N.H.; grandmother of 7; great-grandmother of 6; sister of the late James E. Farricy and Mildred Louise Farricy; and an aunt of several generations of nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to her graveside service on Friday, Sept. 22 at 12 noon at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St. Dorchester.
