Elaine M. Narus, 74, of Brockton, passed away March 17, 2021. Native of Dorchester, she was a daughter of the late Zygmund and Sophie Rose (Maciejewski) Narus. Elaine graduated from St. Mary’s School in South Boston, then Msgr. Ryan Memorial High School in Dorchester and joined the religious order Sisters of Charity of Halifax. Her chosen name was Sister Joyce Marie. After earning Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Social Work from Northeastern she was a licensed social worker at Glen Cove Hospital in Glen Cove, New York and continued to expand her education at New York University. Upon retirement in 2012 Elaine retired to Skyview Village in Brockton. She loved animals, feeding the birds and reading. Elaine was the beloved sister of Vincent Narus of Brockton, Irene M. Pearson of Brockton, Allan Narus of Holbrook and Joyce M. Diorio and her husband Gerard of Brockton; and a loving aunt of several nieces and nephews including the late Stephanie Marie Doucette. All are welcome to calling hours Monday, March 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton and her funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
