Effie (Wicker) Sultis-Hill, 93, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2020. Born in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Lucius and Evangeline (Hoyt) Wicker. Effie had worked at Paris Paper Box before beginning a 30 year career at Boston Edison, where she worked until her retirement. Effie was a strong “free spirit” and was an inspiration to all women, especially those in her family. She loved the ocean and enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Effie was the wife of the late William Prescott Hill; beloved mother of Kevin S. Sultis of Dorchester, Michele D. Hart-Alford of Allston, Robin McDaniel of Brockton, and the late Thomas Wooten II; loving grandmother of Michele Wooten, Thomas Wooten III, Kevin Hart, Britnie McDaniel-Roberts, Jas McDaniel, Charisse Mare, and Kevin M. Sultis; great-grandmother of Candance, Genesis, Chastyn, Cynie, and Cydnie; great-great grandmother of Gem, McKenzie, and twins Elijah and Aaliyah; sister of Alice Edwards of Franklin, VA, Beverly Pervis of Mattapan, and Claudette Wicker of Chelsea. Effie also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Friday, February 14th from 1-3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.
