Edward E. Byers Sr.

Edward E. Byers Sr., 91, of Brockton, passed away in his sleep July 10, 2024. Born and raised in Brewer, Maine a son of the late Edward B. and Mary (Andrews) Byers, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War with the Air Police guard dog unit. After his honorable discharge from the military, he was a Quality Control Inspector and a District Supervisor prior to his retirement. In his youth in Maine, Ed loved hunting and fishing and grew up on the banks of the Penobscot River. He was a trained and talented singer, having performed at several concerts and community events in his hometown.

Edward was the beloved husband of Kathy (Parise) Byers for 55 years, whom he met during his service at Otis Air Force base in Bourne. Ed was the loving father of Ed Byers Jr. and his wife Cindy (Mackedon) Byers of Easton. He leaves behind his sister Linda Byers of Plymouth, his nephews and nieces Sean Glennon of Florida, Michelle Glennon of Plymouth, Ashley Byers and her husband Donnie of Hyannis and his grandnieces Morgan Glennon of Lynn, Riley Lynn Glennon of Florida and Isabelle Glennon of Plymouth. He was the brother-in-law of the late Richard and Barbara (Jean) Bennoch and their children Richard, Karen and Lori all of Texas. Ed was the brother-in-law of Samuel Parise, and the late Elizabeth Francis and Margaret Parise, of Brockton. 

All are welcome to a calling hour Saturday July 20 from 9-10 a.m. and his funeral service at 10 a.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, with honors and burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, North Cary Street Brockton. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation (https://diabetes.org/) or your favorite charity.
