Edith M. (Newton) Rigoli, 85, of Methuen, formerly of Salem, NH, passed away October 20, 2024. Born in Boston to the late Clifford and Margaret (Maloney) Newton, she was raised there and then lived in Brighton for 15 years and also in North Reading. Edith was employed as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service at the South Postal Annex, General Mail Facility in South Boston for many years until retirement. Edith moved to Brockton in 1984 then to Cape Cod until moving to Salem, New Hampshire. Edith enjoyed reading and was a former auxiliary member of V.F.W. Post 5737.
Edith was the wife of the late John J. Rigoli since 1983, beloved mother of Kathryn Newton of Methuen, John J. Rigoli Jr. of Burlington, Lynda Rigoli of Revere and the late Anna Shover and Donald Newton; a grandmother and great-grandmother of many; sister of Grace Cantino of Leominster, George Newton of Concord and the late Priscilla Hallahan and an aunt of several nieces and nephews. After cremation Edith will be in the wall niche at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts. Memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
