E. Richard "Rick" Tautkus Jr.

E. Richard "Rick" Tautkus Jr., 79, of Whitman for the past 26 years, passed away April 25, 2023. Born in Brockton, he was a son of the late Anna (Bielskis) Tautkus and Edward R. Tautkus Sr. and graduated from Brockton High School. Rick was by trade primarily a heavy equipment operator.  He worked at General Dynamics, Montello Auto Body & Construction Company, and PSG in Brockton until retirement. Rick enjoyed classic autos, area car shows, and snowmobiling and hunting in earlier years. Rick was an avid New York Yankees fan and had traveled frequently to the Florida Keys where he especially liked Marathon, Florida. Rick was the beloved husband of Marylouise (Tanzi) Tautkus for almost 57 years; loving brother of Joyce Parenteau of Middleboro and the late Normand, John Peter Tautkus of New Hampshire, Christina Hall of Brockton and the late Sandy, and the late Robert Tautkus and his wife Lindy of Brockton; and an uncle of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 12 noon-2 p.m. and 2 p.m. prayer service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Cremation and private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, a worthy cause which Rick supported.
