Donald E. Isaacsen

Donald E. Isaacsen, 84, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away on August 12, 2026. He was the son of the late Arnold and Martha F. (Evans) Isaacsen. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. Donald was a steam engineer and LNG operator for public utilities from 1989 until his retirement in 2005, working for ComElectric, Com Gas, and NStar throughout the years.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed his time spent in nature and enjoyed hiking at Borderland State Park, where he was a docent at the mansion there. He was a trivia buff and loved teaching kids about nature and history. Lifelong family camping trips across the United States brought him great joy. Donald was blessed with a great sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to tell a good joke.

Donald was the beloved husband of Ellen Hale Isaacsen for 50 years; loving father of Timothy Isaacsen and his wife Amy of Taunton, Eric Isaacsen of Taunton, and the late Joel Andrew Isaacsen; brother of William Isaacsen and his wife Mary of Florida, and W. Norman Isaacsen and his wife Brenda of Washington; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to his memorial service on Saturday, September 12th at 1 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 540 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Old Colony Hospice, or Borderland State Park.
