Demetrol Teasley Obituary

Demetrol Teasley, 65, of Brockton, passed away on April 28, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Demetrol was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio to Clarence and Pauline Teasley. He was the youngest of seven children. He was nicknamed Memece by an older cousin at a young age. We all knew he was mom’s favorite.

When Memece was young he did not like chicken, so our mother fixed him hamburgers instead. We just sat and watched and knew not to say anything about it. Demetrol attended Cleveland Public Schools. He then went and worked at Seaway Foods in the shipping department. Later he pursued a position he loved most, working at the Acacia Country Club where he met his mentor, the late Mr. Robert Dunn, also known as "Bob”. He worked there for 13 years and was well liked. He loved the beauty of the golf course. At the golf course, Demetrol helped manage the men's locker room and other areas of the golf course.

Dee later moved to Boston, MA with his niece and sister. Living in Mattapan, MA for a short time, Memece joined Jubilee Christian Church. He loved God and trusted he would provide a way for him to have purpose in his life. He moved to Brockton and met his best friend, a brother from another mother Danny and his wife Lenora. They have been friends for over 10 years. He became known as Dee when they met. Every time you saw Dee you would see Danny. You can't say enough about their friendship. Dee loved all of Danny and Lenora’s children and they loved him. He watched them grow up. They called him Uncle Dee.

Dee loved dogs and cars. Dee loved to drive, and he loved to take the scenic routes while listening to his music. He loved cars and kept his car clean as a whistle. He would pick up and drop off his nieces and nephews to and from school. Dee never complained about anything! He was loved by so many people. Dee loved his family and friends, he always liked to keep the peace and never wanted confusion.

Demetrol leaves to cherish his memory four surviving sisters Beverley Wood-Engerman of Boston, MA, Paula Flake (and Myron), Janet Hopkins, Janice Teasley-Edwards, and one surviving brother Marvin Teasley, all of Cleveland, OH. Proceeding Demetrol in his passing brother Clarence Teasley Jr. and daughter Demetria Teasley of Cleveland, OH. Demetrol leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and many friends.
