Deborah M. (Blazewicz) Hegarty

Deborah M. (Blazewicz) Hegarty, 68, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, after a long struggle with health issues. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Kelley M. Hegarty and Derek Andrade of Attleboro, her son, Clifford Michael Hegarty of Fall River and her cherished grandchildren, Hayden M. Hegarty and Hayley M. Hegarty of Attleboro. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Blazewicz of Marshfield, Marylou Florio and husband Kenneth of South Easton, Michelle Stephen and husband Dana of Brockton, Jane Blazewicz of Brockton and her niece, Ashly Blazewicz of Taunton. She also leaves behind many friends from Brockton, Attleboro, and Fall River. Deborah is predeceased by her husband, Clifford Mark Hegarty, her parents, Edward M and Patricia P Blazewicz, and her sister Alice Blazewicz.

Deborah was born in Brockton and was very proud of her Irish, Lithuanian, and Polish heritage. She loved growing up in the Village. She graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School and Framingham State College. She worked for many years in the business field. She loved life, her family, the Red Sox, doing Sudoku’s and a great meal. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren; she attended as many sports games and school events for Hayden and Hayley as she was able.

Friends and family, with masks, are invited to pay their respects on Friday, November 6th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Anyone wearing Yankees attire will be denied entrance. A brief service will be held at 7 p.m. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, interment will be private and a celebration of Deborah’s life will be held at a later date.

Her family would like to thank the numerous medical staff who oversaw her care and help keep her positive over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Deborah by performing a random act of kindness of your choice.
