David Leon “Devine” Williams, 63, of Avon, passed away on April 7, 2022. He was born three minutes after his twin Clyde on June 8, 1958, in Hamilton, Ohio just outside of Cincinnati to Quincy and Jerline Williams.
He grew up in Boston and enjoyed hanging with family and friends. He was a game player who loved to play video games, chess, cards, and pool. Devine loved to laugh. He could pull a movie quote out of nowhere for almost any occasion to inject some comedy into a discussion. He was the most outgoing sibling and made friends at the drop of a hat.
Devine wore many hats in his working life including with Teradyne and IBM. After moving to Brockton, he got into the convenience store business in 1988 and eventually co-owned a store in Brockton.
After he was diagnosed with cancer, he was immediately determined fighting through it. He mostly kept his spirits up through the years of hospital stays, rehab, chemotherapy, and dialysis.
It was late in his life that he realized his passion for travel and discovered a love for cruises as well. He loved being with his children and grandchild and always looked forward to spending time with them.
Devine is survived by his daughters Tamika, Dacarra and Shalindi, grandson Diogenes “DJ”, his sisters Kim and Karen, his brothers Rudy, Quincy, Clyde (twin), Douglas and Job, and many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to his funeral service on Friday, April 15th at 11 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, with visitation in the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl St., Brockton.
