Daniel M. Kelly Sr.

Daniel M. Kelly Sr., 68, of East Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday July 3, 2025 at South County Hospital in Wakefield, RI. He was the husband of Maryanne (Jacobsen) Kelly.

Daniel was born on June 28, 1957 in Brockton, MA to the late Daniel C. Kelly and the late Gloria (Tarantino) Stanbrook and was the loving step-son of the late Reginald Stanbrook. He attended Brockton High School and was a graduate of UMASS Boston, class of 2004, earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Daniel retired from Eversource Energy in 2023 after a 37-year career at the gas company, between Bay State Gas, Columbia Gas of Massachusetts and Eversource Energy where he held many different job titles and made many lasting memories and friends.

He also had a 25-year career as a High School Football Official where he took great pride in making a positive impact on his community and his brother officials on and off the field.

Daniel is survived by his wife Maryanne Kelly of East Bridgewater; his sons Daniel M. Kelly, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Carver, and John P. Kelly of Fall River; son-in-law of Richard and Colleen Jacobsen of Halifax; brother-in-law of Richard Jacobsen Jr. and the late Sheila Jacobsen of Derry, NH, and John and Barbara Faherty of East Bridgewater; siblings Eileen Stanbrook of Martha’s Vineyard, Stephen Stanbrook and his wife Kim of Brockton, Kathryn Teeter and her husband Paul of Pembroke, Ellen Stanbrook of Pembroke, and John Stanbrook and his wife Jacqueline of Middleboro. Daniel is also survived by his beloved grandson Kaden Kelly of Carver; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

All are welcome to calling hours on Friday, July 11th from 4-8 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12th at 9:15 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 518 Washington St., Whitman and burial at St. James Cemetery in Whitman.
