Daniel J. Derito, 71, a proud lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away Dec. 8, 2021. Growing up on the North Side, he played baseball and never missed a pickup game of hockey at the Muck. Taught by his parents to be a hard worker, he delivered The Enterprise to the Montello area residents. He also caddied for golfers at Thorny Lea and D.W. Field Golf Course, where he began his passion for golf. He was a 1968 graduate of Brockton High School and goalie for the Brockton Boxers Hockey Team.
Well known for “Dan De” service, his iconic Dan De Carpet Cleaning truck was often spotted throughout the city at his favorite stops: Dairy Queen, Gowells Candy, Polish White Eagles Club, D.W. Field Golf Course and Brockton Country Club. Dan transitioned careers to real estate in 2002 where he sold “Dan De” homes for Premier Properties, Keller Williams and most recently for Success Real Estate.
Dan was the beloved husband of Robyn L. Derito for 42 years, dear son of Catherine “Kay” Derito and the late Edward Derito, loving father of Erin Miller and her husband Tim of Scarborough, Maine, brother of Jean Bessette and her husband Paul of North Dartmouth, Lawrence Derito of Florida and the late Toni Derito.
