Daniel A. Buckley III, 61, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on August 6, 2025. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Daniel is the son of the late Daniel Jr. and Virginia (Eldridge) Buckley of Brockton, MA. When he was 2 years old his family moved to Hawaii, where he gained his Hawaiian style. After high school, he and his parents moved to Scottsdale, where he studied political science at Phoenix College. His sharp wit and keen sense of humor landed him a waiter job as a Keystone Cop named “Mister Meener” in a character-themed major restaurant in Scottsdale.
At the age of 27 Daniel suffered an automobile accident that left him with Traumatic Brain Injury, preventing him from readily making new memories. He didn’t let that hold him down and worked and lived independently for the next three decades. In the last three years, he was known and loved by many fellow residents at a retirement community in Scottsdale. Daniel is survived by his sisters Maureen Peppers, Kathleen Bouches, and Sharon Paishon. Daniel will be remembered for his engaging sense of humor, his love of classical rock music, and his dogged determination to not give his disability control over his life.
All are welcome to visitation at 9 a.m. and memorial service at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12th at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Brockton in the family plot.
