It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved wife, sister, aunt, niece and friend Cynthia M. “Cindy” Byers of North Easton, MA at age 67. Cindy was born on January 14, 1957 and passed away in the presence of her husband Edward E. Byers, Jr. on Friday, August 16, 2024. She had been courageously fighting Multiple System Atrophy for the past several years.
Cindy met her husband Edward in their senior year of high school. As they started their life together, they built a small chain of health conscious restaurants that stretched from Massachusetts to Florida. For the past 27 years she was the President and Co-Founder of Custom Blends, Inc. known as Cindy’s Kitchen that she built with her husband from the ground up. Cindy’s Kitchen is a salad dressing, dip, and cooking sauce manufacturer that creates full time jobs and currently employs over 130 people in Cindy’s hometown of Brockton, MA. Cindy’s products are sold to supermarkets, restaurants, and institutions across the United States.
In her free time, she loved to go on cruises, be with her sisters, nieces, closest friends, dear employees and all of her Maltese dogs through the years - Tiffany, Precious, Cuddles, and Snuggles.
Cindy is survived by her husband Edward E. Byers, Jr.; her siblings, William Johnson and his spouse Dennis, Arlene Glynn, Elizabeth Hurst and her husband Scott; her nieces Ashley, Valerie, Victoria, Vanessa; and her uncle Samuel Parise that she lovingly cared for and looked after for many years. A special thank you to her caretakers Romilfa Dossantos, Avelina Lopes, and Maria Cardoso that spent 15 hours a day with Cindy for the past several years as she battled MSA. She is predeceased by her parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and two brothers Gerald and Robert Mackedon.
All are welcome to calling hours on Sunday, August 25th from 12-3 p.m. with a 3 p.m. prayer service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main Street, Brockton and her burial service Monday, August 26th at 1 p.m. directly at Calvary Cemetery, 95 North Cary Street, Brockton. Memorial gifts may be made to Mission MSA, 1660 International Drive, Suite 600 McLean, VA 22102.
