Curtis Lee Warren, 86, of Hyde Park, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, following a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. Born on January 19, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama, Curtis was the son of the late William Warren and Lucy Washington Warren. He was one of seven children and is survived by his sisters, Lizzie Crosby of Salisbury, NC, and Catherine Warren of Hyde Park, MA. He was preceded in death by his siblings Ethel Sanders, Charles Warren, Thomas Warren, and Sam Warren.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Curtis spent over 40 years in the sheet metal business. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life: he was an avid reader, enjoyed walking, and loved watching television. His absolute favorite film was the classic "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner," which he famously watched over a thousand times. Above all else, he cherished every moment spent with his family.
Curtis leaves behind a legacy of love with his four children: Lucy Grenier and her husband Larry of Quincy, MA; Curtis Warren Jr. of Brockton, MA; Kathy Warren of Quincy, MA; and Delores Facey and her husband Leighton of Easton, MA. He was the proud "Papa" to his three grandchildren, DeVaun Facey, Derell Facey, and Leighanna Facey. Curtis also maintained a close and special friendship with his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Mary Warren; every year, they shared the joy of celebrating their birthdays together, which fell just one day apart. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews across North Carolina and Massachusetts.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Beth Israel Hospital Oncology Department, as well as the staff at Alliance Health and Serenity Hospice in Quincy, for their dedicated care and for making his final days as comfortable as possible.
Respectfully, his funeral service is private. Those wishing to commemorate his life, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beth Israel Cancer Research Institute.
