Clinton Smith, 81, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, he was the son of the late Robert and Viola (Beamon) Smith. Clinton moved to Boston in 1963 before eventually calling Brockton home. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Clinton was an actor for many years before joining the military and upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he went on to have a lengthy career with the MBTA.
Clinton was the beloved husband of Marie M. (Bourdeau) Smith for 37 years; loving father of Mary Smith of Randolph, Verdene (Smith) Coleman of Brockton and Cynthia Smith of Brockton; dear grandfather of Marissa Coleman. Clinton was predeceased by his siblings and leaves many extended family members to mourn his passing.
Family and friends are welcome to visitation on Thursday, June 13th from 10-11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton and burial at St. Mary Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph. Live streaming of Clinton’s funeral will be available.
