Clarence N. “Red” Alger, 97, of Brockton since 1951, passed away on June 20, 2024. A native of Eastondale, he was the son of the late Alton E. and Florence M. (Walker) Alger, was a Merchant Marine for a time, then served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a price estimator for area plumbing and heating firms for many years until his retirement. Red was a member of Brockton Area A.R.C. for over 50 years and enjoyed golfing and woodworking. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth A. (Cody) Alger for 71 years until her passing in 2022; loving father of John Alger (Patricia) of Middleboro, Deborah Muldoon (the late Kevin) of Millis, and Linda Alger of Brockton; grandfather of four; great-grandfather of 5; brother of Robert Alger (Jean) of South Easton and the late Alton F. Alger, Hazel Benton, and Marian Rowand; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Tues., June 25th from 9-11a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
