Christopher Raymond Obituary

Christopher J. Raymond, 62, of Taunton, died unexpectedly on September 15, 2024. Chris was born in the city of Boston to Edward and Anita Raymond. A beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, he touched the lives of those around him with his kind, caring and compassionate, grace and generous nature. His commitment to his family and community left an indelible mark, and he will be remembered for the love he shared with all who knew him.

Chris loved to travel. From the beaches of Oregon to the mountains of Utah and Colorado, to the Mont Blanc, highest mountain in Europe, from his apartment in Rome, his villa in Beausoleil overlooking Monte Carlo, Chris mastered living easy and lived as a king.

He was a writer, a programmer, a painter, an automotive journalist, a publisher, an entrepreneur. He was a guitarist, a pianist, a motorcyclist, a car collector and an automobile historian. He flew in planes, driven every sort of car, truck and bus, right up to a tank. He drove his motorcycle down Bourbon Street and Las Vegas Boulevard, ballooned over New England, air boated in the Everglades, rode a camel in Giza, and drove an Alfa Romeo through the Stelvio Pass in Northern Italy and a Ferrari California on the roads of the Monte Carlo F1 circuit.

And if that wasn’t enough, Chris played bagpipes at a Presidential Inaugural and for the Queen Mother in Toronto, held back crowds for the Pope in Boston, met and drove hundreds of celebrities, visited almost every state and 20 countries’, and had experiences with friends that were life changing. He climbed mountains, swam across the Rio Grande to Mexico, went whitewater rafting in Alaska, stood on a glacier, taken a train to the Yukon, traveled to Sudan and Egypt, listened to Ray Charles and BB King play live in New Orleans. He managed a jam band, ran a restaurant and comedy club, and owned a limousine company, Construction Company, a digital marketing agency and an online store.

Life was always easy for Chris and he made friends quickly and was blessed with lifelong friends that made him a better person just by being around them. May Chris rest in eternal peace, and may his memory serve as a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, and family in the face of loss.
