Cheryl M. Anderson
August 10, 1957- July 11, 2024
Cheryl was born and raised at 8 Victory Ave., Avon in a little house where her mom and grandmother were also born and raised. She was the oldest sister of five and played that role to the greatest degree as they all unfortunately lost their parents at a young age. Cheryl cared for her mom with compassion and selfless love while also helping to provide guidance to her younger siblings. Cheryl found such pleasure and pride in helping others. She worked at the Taunton State Hospital and later found a career in respite care for severely disabled adults. One of her biggest accomplishments was putting herself through college and only being one credit shy of her bachelor's degree in psychology before being stricken with chronic illness. Cheryl made an attempt to beat her illness by getting sober over 20 years ago by moving to New Hampshire where she met her dear friends Terri Balentine who ultimately along with her sister Julie took care of her the last few years of life with unconditional love. Her friend Kelli White was near and dear to her as was the minister and congregation of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Nashua, NH. Cheryl loved all animals, especially her cats! Her life was full of adventures and she even worked out in California in Hollywood where she got to work with the cockatoo Fred from the television series Baretta.
Cheryl was not just a big sister, special aunt or close friend, she was a presence. She exuded depth through humor and love through acts of kindness. Her legacy and life lessons will live on through all that knew her.
She was the daughter of the late Catherine Anderson (McCarty) and late Karl Anderson and brother of the late Michael Anderson.
She was survived by and loved by her family: her sister Kathleen Drew and husband Ken, sister Julie Haugh and husband Steve, brother David Anderson; her nieces and nephews Jennifer Anderson O’Donnell and husband Kevin, Robert Rose and wife Gemma, Cassie Rose, Danielle Rose, Laura Drew and fiancé Colleen, Brendon Drew and Emily Drew; great nieces and nephews Cody, Kaylie, Robert, Alanna, McCoy, Gavin, Gracie, Avery, Arabella, Natalie and Noah.
All are welcome to join us for a graveside prayer at 12:00 PM on Saturday July 20th at St. Michael Cemetery in Avon, immediately followed by a celebration of life at 890 King Street Raynham at the residence of Cheryl's sister Kathy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cheryl's name to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd. Merrimack NH 03054-4601.
