Charles H. Littlefield II (Charlie), 76, of Avon, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2021. Born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Braintree, MA, he was the oldest son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Grant) Littlefield. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War.
Following his departure from the Marines, Charlie became a truck driver for the Town of Braintree Highway Department, retiring after 30 years of service and was President of AFSCME Local 1301. He was also a member of the Brookline VFW Post 864, Braintree DAV and Braintree VFW Post 1702, where he was a Past Post Commander.
Charlie was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved to travel.
Charlie was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (McLean) Littlefield for 46 years; loving father of Michelle Littlefield and her wife Nikki of Bridgewater, Mark Littlefield and his wife Maryalice of Woburn, and Anne Foster and her husband Kevin of Raynham, and Chuck Robbins and Eric Littlefield, both of Maine; grandfather of Griffin Foster and Maeve Littlefield; brother of Daniel Littlefield of PA, Michael Littlefield and his wife Phyllis of Weymouth, John Littlefield of Weymouth, and the late Nancy Simes; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Tues., Nov. 23 from 4-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home on Wed., Nov. 24 at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon and burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
