Celina (Pereira) DSouza, 94, of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 6, 2025. Born and raised in Belgaum, India, she was the daughter of the late John Xavier Pereira and Maximiana Natalia (Coutinho) Periera.
Celina was the wife of the late Franco DSouza; beloved mother of Clifford DeSouza and his wife Doris of London, England, Carol Shade and her husband Paul of Brockton, and Canute “Kenny” DeSouza and his wife Eve of East Bridgewater; cherished grandmother of Neville DeSouza and his wife Rehana, Ryan DeSouza, all of London, England, and Brandon Shade of Brockton; sister of the late Annie Rosario, Edward Pereira, and John Reginald Pereira; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. Celina will be missed by her loving pet Chuckles (an African grey parrot).
All are welcome to calling hours on Friday, June 20th from 5-8 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 21st, last goodbyes at 9 a.m. at the funeral home then immediately start processing for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton.
