Carolyn A. (Lawson) Montgomery, 81, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2024. Born and raised in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late John V. and Frances (Ryan) Lawson.
Carolyn was the beloved mother of Vincent J. Montgomery and his wife Lisa Botelho of Taunton and Robert T. Montgomery of East Bridgewater; cherished grandmother of Krystle Strangis, Hannah Montgomery, and Emma Montgomery; loving sister of Bill Lawson, Bob Lawson, Eileen Chace, and the late John Lawson, Frank Lawson, and Victoria Lawson; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn loved to travel, garden, and spend time with her family. She was a positive light and added a loving, joyful touch to every family holiday and gathering. She loved the outdoors, spending much time tending to her yard and flower gardens. She often traveled to Hawaii, New York, Florida, and California to visit her siblings, parents, and friends.
Throughout her life she wore many hats and accomplished a great number of things. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her two sons, Vincent and Robert. She raced stock cars, drove a school bus, was a hairdresser and worked in the service industry for decades. She was a hard worker, and an excellent homemaker. She truly appreciated the little moments in life and encouraged everyone else to do the same.
Carolyn enjoyed sharing stories and memories with others. She would reminisce about vacationing in NH with her family when she was a young girl, and of fond memories she made with her best friends from New York.
Carolyn took great pride in her grandchildren and cherished time spent with them. Sharing her wisdom and teaching them lessons in life, they will hold onto forever. She had a positive impact on all that knew her. She will be forever remembered for her uplifting spirit and for her love of life and laughter. Respectfully, funeral services are private.
