Carol A. (Hayes) Marshall

Carol A. (Hayes) Marshall, 82, of Brockton, passed away on November 26, 2022. Born in Cambridge, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Elna (Gronblom) Hayes. Devoted to her family and home, Carol had previously worked for Wear-Guard, Hallmark, and Best of Care in Quincy. She loved Irish music and a cup of tea and enjoyed gardening, shopping, casino trips, and time by the pool. She greatly enjoyed caring for her boxer dogs.

Carol was the beloved wife of Herbert “Fred” Marshall and the late David Kelley; loving mother of James M. Kelley of Brockton, Kathleen O’Donnell and Todd of Rockland, Debra Kelley and Matt Kell of Brockton, Kevin Kelley of Boston, and Frederick Marshall of Brockton; grandmother of James M. Kelley Jr. of Florida, Kyle Kelley, Kaitlyn Kelley, and Cameron Kelley, all of Roslindale; great-grandmother of Connor Kelley; and sister of the late Leo Hayes, Eleanor “Honey” Haley, and Ronald Hayes. Carol also leaves many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Carol’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Mass General Hospital, the team at Brockton Dialysis Center (Westgate), and the drivers at Dial-a-Bat, for their exceptional care.

Main St., Brockton, her funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wed., Dec. 7th at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 153 S. Franklin St., Holbrook and 12:45 p.m. committal service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Kidney Fund (www.kidneyfund.org).
