Carol H. Gureckis, 80, of West Bridgewater, passed away on March 7, 2023 at the South Shore Hospital after a long illness. Daughter of the late William E. and Annette R. Handy, she was born in Norwell and raised in East Bridgewater. She was a member of the E. Bridgewater High School Class of 1960, and was the class treasurer for 4 years. Carol was very devoted to her immediate as well as her extended family. She enjoyed caring for her family and her home, and always went out of her way to help her family and her friends whenever the need arose.
She was the wife of the late Alexander J. Gureckis, loving mother of Paul Gureckis of West Bridgewater, Peter Gureckis of Florida, David Gureckis and his wife Jennifer of Easton, and the late Laurie Flamos and Alexander Gureckis, Jr. She was the dear grandmother of Heather Gureckis, Erik Gureckis, Anna Gureckis, Juliana Gureckis, Josephina Gureckis, Steven Flamos, Zoe Flamos, Alexander Flamos, Charlie Gureckis and Teddy Gureckis. Carol was also the sister of Ned Handy and Judy of Plymouth, Steve Handy and Joan of Mashpee, and Dave Handy and Anne of Berkley; and the aunt of Ned Handy Jr., Karen White, Josh Handy and Nicki Handy.
Carol was the pillar upon which her family and friends depended, and she will certainly be missed.
