Carmen M. (Palermo) “Non-Nons” Bonney, 79, of Brockton, passed away on April 28, 2025. Born in Portland, Maine, daughter of the late Matthew and Philomena (Quatrano) Palermo, she was raised in Rockland and graduated from Rockland High School. Carmen was proud of her high school accolades, being voted “most talkative” and “best dancer”, dance being an integral part of her life. She worked in the corporate office of Cumberland Farms in the risk management department for many years.
She believed in “tough love”, with that toughness came understanding and love. Carmen opened her doors to everyone, providing delicious meals and a safe haven. She enjoyed frequent trips to Old Orchard Beach in Maine and loved the time spent with her grandchildren, who were her world. Carmen’s legacy of love and kindness will never be forgotten.
Carmen was the beloved mother of Jennifer McGrath (and Butch) of Brockton, Paul Bonney (and Jennifer) of Pennsylvania, and Donald Fisher (and Jessica) of Western Massachusetts; grandmother of Anthony Alexiou, Alanarose Alexiou and her partner Jamal Rodrigues, and Emily Bonney; great-grandmother of Niko and one great-granddaughter on the way; sister of Danielle Everett (and Wayne) of Pembroke, Matthew Palermo (and Carol) of Hanson, and the late Marc Palermo; and an aunt of many, including her favorite nephew Andrew Everett of Rockland; she also leaves her extended family Michelle Gendreau and her children. Carmen will be missed by her cherished Shih Tzu “Niko”, who has been by her side for the past twenty years.
