Bradford R. Weatherbee, 80, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024 at home under hospice care after a long illness with leiomyosarcoma. Brad was the son of the late Bradford E. and Dorothy A. (Friend) Weatherbee. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1961, and attended Stonehill College, serving honorably in the U.S. Navy Reserves. His work career began as a supervisor of warehousing for Polaroid for 23 years then he was a buyer for Reebok and Franklin Sports, each for 11 years, retiring in 2011.
He and his family were members of Christ Congregational Church U.C.C. Brad shared 57 years of marriage and was devoted to his late wife Barbara J. (Simmons) Weatherbee who died in 2021. Together they enjoyed 13 cruises all over the world, traveled all over the U.S., visited Disneyworld 7 times, and spent winters in Boca Grande, Florida.
Brad was the beloved father of Scott and his wife Diane of West Bridgewater and Shawn and his wife Rachel of Brockton; the loving grandfather of Matthew and his wife Emma, Megan, Kevin, Austin, and Chase; dear brother of Martha Jane Binda of Randolph and the late Grace Crane; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Friday, May 10 from 10 to 11:45 a.m. and his funeral service at 11:45 a.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, and burial at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Old Colony Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
