Bobby Williams “Bob” was born on September 12, 1942, in Columbus, GA, to Annie Lee Williams. He was lovingly raised by his grandmother and older cousins. Bob was the youngest of three siblings, preceded in death by his brother, Horace Williams of Hyde Park, MA, and his sister, Grace Hatchett of Columbus, GA.
A devoted husband and soulmate, Bob shared a beautiful life with his wife, Ruth Williams. He was a cherished stepfather to Crystal Avakian, Ronald Wheaton Jr., and Wendy Wheaton. Growing up surrounded by family, he formed deep bonds with many cousins and was affectionately known as "Uncle Bobby" to numerous nieces and nephews.
As a teenager, Bob left Columbus, GA, and followed his brother Horace to Detroit, MI, where he discovered his passion for music. Blessed with a God-given talent, he sang in a gospel band, bringing joy to all who heard him. Those who knew Bob will always remember his love for singing and conversation.
His journey later took him to Boston, where he found fulfillment working outdoors and running his own concession stand. He eventually dedicated many years of service to the City of Boston as a Senior Shuttle driver before retiring.
Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life—eating, talking, playing bingo, and connecting with those around him. His warm spirit and love for life will be deeply missed, but his voice now joins the heavenly choir, singing among the angels in God’s loving embrace.
