Beverly A. (Morse) Horton

It is with broken hearts that we share the news of the passing of our cherished mom Beverly A. (Morse) Horton, 86, on August 22, 2021. She passed peacefully with her loved ones by her side at the Residence at Five Corners, where she was cared for and loved by all the staff for the last couple months of her life. Beverly was born in Boston on March 27, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Mabel and Charles Morse. She married her childhood sweetheart Gerald "Jerry" Horton, and they settled in Brockton in 1965 and were happily married until his passing in May of 2015.

Beverly enjoyed working as a cashier at Purity Supreme while being a loving mother to her five children. She was an avid bingo player, and loved spending her days with her grandchildren, eating ice cream and donuts. She loved a day spent at the slots at Foxwoods or a day at her home watching her soaps with a cup of tea, and her collie named Sharpe. Her favorite time of year was Christmas time, when she got to decorate her home and had the most beautiful tree with perfectly placed ornaments and her angel on top. We were blessed to have her in our lives and now to have her as our guardian angel up in heaven.

She was the wife of the late Gerald F. “Jerry” Horton; beloved mother of Gerald Horton (and Tee) of Virginia Beach, VA, Beverly Bierman (and Steve) of Londonderry NH, Diane Belcher (and Wayne) of Norton, Laurie Georgakopoulos (and Dino) of Bridgewater and the late Janice Earley; devoted Nanny to her cherished 12 grandchildren: Gary (and his wife Dawn) and Anthony Horton, Gina Earley Ashby, Khristina Earley, Stephanie, Wayne, Michelle and Michael Belcher, Dino, Maria, Nico and Selena Georgakopoulos; sister of the late Charles and Robert Morse; and lifelong friend of the late Barbara Bell.

All are welcome to calling hours Friday 5-8 p.m. Aug. 27 in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Residence at Five Corners (Reflections Unit), 678 Depot St. North Easton MA 02356.
