Bette M. (Freeman) Hunt, 98, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died March 31, 2021. She worked at Barbour Welt, met her husband there, and then was devoted to her family and home. Bette spent summers in her youth at Nantasket, enjoyed Bermuda, loved the beach, and gambling at Foxwoods. She was the widow of Clifford Hunt; beloved mother of Dolly Hunt and the late Clifford “Kip” Hunt Jr.; mother-in-law of Lorna (Callow) Hunt; loving grandmother of Jennifer Menard and her husband Eric of West Bridgewater, and Daniel P. Hunt of Brockton; dear great-grandmother of Cameron Nestelberger and Daniel P. Hunt Jr.; and sister of the late Ralph and Benjamin Freeman. All are welcome to a calling hour Thursday, April 8 at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hope Hospice.
