Berlioz Florestal

Berlioz Florestal, 51, of West Bridgewater and Brockton, passed away tragically in an auto accident on January 18, 2022. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was a cherished son of Luphete Pierre and Claire Marie (Pierre Louis) Florestal.

Berlioz earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and began his lengthy career as a correctional officer. He was currently employed at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Norfolk for over 10 years, where he served tirelessly. Berlioz was an intelligent, hardworking, man of God and was dedicated to his entire family. He was always there to help those in need and was never afraid to shower his wife with love and affection.

Berlioz was the beloved husband of Marie Yves (Dorisca) Florestal; loving father of Berlioz “Beji” Florestal II, Berto Jourdain Florestal, Christian Saint-Brun, and Makayla Lamerique; dear brother of Berline Florestal Vincent and her husband Alixon, Ehly Florestal, and Clarck Florestal and his wife Regine; and a devoted uncle of Yedjhana Labady and Kemyssa Labady. Berlioz also leaves many additional family and friends who will miss him dearly.

All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 9-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph. Face masks required for all attendees. Live streaming of Berlioz's funeral will begin at 10 a.m.
