Barbara A. (Perry) Wentzell

Barbara A. (Perry) Wentzell, 86, of Rockland, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on August 6, 2024. A daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mildred G. (Finck) Perry, she was raised in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School in 1955. Barbara was a talented professional vocalist and piano and keyboard player. She had the Barbara Ann Trio and later was in Rainbow's End, an Irish band, for many years, and entertained all over, mostly in Eastern Massachusetts. Barbara also worked as a C.N.A. at area nursing homes. She resided in Brockton from 1960 to 1979, then in Abington prior to moving to Florida near Lakeland and enjoyed living there for 21 years until coming back north in 2023. Barbara loved music, bingo, playing cards (especially poker), and casino trips.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert C. Wentzell for almost 65 years; loving mother of Karen Brahimi and her husband Mohamed of Quincy, Roberta Finn and her husband Gregory of Rockland, and Kelly MacEachern and her husband Michael Sr. of Braintree; devoted grandmother of Brian Finn and his wife Lynne, Matthew and Shawn Finn, Joseph Brahimi, and M.J. and Robert MacEachern; and dear great-grandmother of Charlotte Finn; sister of the late Evelyn Gramer and Robert Perry; and an aunt of several nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to calling hours Monday August 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, her funeral Tuesday August 13 at 9 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 87 North Main St. Avon and committal at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Norwell V.N.A. and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr. Norwell MA 02061.
