Barbara A. (Doherty) Keohane, 93, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on May 12, 2025. She was the devoted daughter of the late George F. Doherty Sr. and Beatrice (McNeil) Doherty. Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School and worked in the Brockton City Clerk’s Office for over 26 years until her retirement in 1997. A member of the Brockton Senior Center and Catholic Charities Guild, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She loved film and music and had a deep love of children.
Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Keohane; sister of Eleanor Beliveau of South Carolina, Grace Orcutt of Brockton, MA and the late Kathleen Jooris, Eileen Smith, George Doherty Jr., Robert Doherty, and Gerald Doherty; and a dear aunt of 23 nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 19th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, funeral procession will gather at Waitt Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 20th at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E. Main St., Brockton. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 95 N. Cary St., Brockton. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E.
