Audrie Ann Powell was born on May 19, 1959, to Winnifred Bailey and Cornelius Powell. From childhood, Audrie was adventurous and full of energy, yet she had a calm, peaceful spirit. She was quick to bring her siblings together, always ready to forgive, and never one to hold a grudge. Her generous heart made her a constant source of support to those around her. She was not only a loving and devoted mother, but also a proud and caring grandmother.
Within her community and church, Audrie was always willing to extend a hand, to help, to serve, and to love. Her best friend, Diane, recalls how they met while working at Freezone, a factory in Kingston, Jamaica. It was there that Audrie taught her how to secure a suture—marking the beginning of a lifelong friendship. Her cousin Cherry and sister Tiny speak fondly of their youth, filled with music, parties, and laughter. Audrie loved to dance and spent many joyful nights in Jamaica living her best life. Still, life in Jamaica came with challenges. Audrie, determined to create more for her children, set her sights on America. She arrived with her eldest son, Kevin, and worked tirelessly to bring her daughters, Michelle and Trudy, to join her.
After settling in Miami, Audrie eventually moved to Brockton, Massachusetts, where her older sisters Cloverlyn and Barbara were living. It was there she gave birth to her youngest daughter, Dennisha, and continued building a life rooted in love, resilience, and faith. Throughout her journey, Audrie met countless friends and loved ones with whom she shared sincere, meaningful connections. She achieved much in her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide, roles that suited her natural caregiving spirit. Her bond with her church family remained strong, and she always stayed in touch with relatives both near and far.
On October 4, 2025, at the age of 66, Audrie Ann Powell took her final breath. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength, a life well lived and deeply cherished. Until we meet again.
