Aretta Christine (Vomvoris) Kotalis, 82, of Needham, formerly of West Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. Born and raised in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Alexander George Vomvoris and Christine (Karelas) Vomvoris. She had attended college in Florida and worked for a law firm; later she resided in Connecticut. Aretta was married to James D. Kotalis for 28 years, a career U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, until his passing in 2007. They resided in West Bridgewater on North Elm St. since 1984. Aretta’s true passion in life was teaching; she was blessed with great intellect and as an educator had earned a master’s degree. For many years she taught Advanced Placement European History at Carver High School. Aretta was the sister of the late George Vomvoris and leaves extended family and several close friends.
All are welcome to visitation Tuesday October 21 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton followed by her funeral service at 9:30 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St. Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
