Violet A. (Tukis) (Horton) Benson, 86, of Raynham, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2018. Raised and educated in Stoughton, she lived in Easton for 25 years before moving to Raynham. Violet worked as a C.N.A. for 33 years, before retiring from Norfolk County Hospital in 1999. She enjoyed twice weekly yoga classes for many years. Violet loved the outdoors, vacationing in North Conway, N.H., climbing mountains and canoeing. She liked listening to country western music. However, her greatest joy in life was her family and her many good friends. Violet was the loving wife of Stephen K. Benson; beloved mother of Lawrence Horton and his wife Alison, Leonard Horton and his wife Cathy, Robert Horton and his wife Marcia, and Todd Horton and his wife Danielle; grandmother of David Horton and his wife Suzanne, Scott Horton, Melissa Horton, Nicole Horton and her partner Tony, Bree-Anna Yenulevich, Will Horton and Elisa Horton; and a great-grandmother of Natalie Horton, Megan Horton, Tyler Horton and Mariah Yenulevich. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Tuesday, July 10th from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, followed by a 12 noon memorial service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
