Robert P. Stevens Jr., 81, of Middleborough since 1992, passed away peacefully at home July 24, 2017. Native of Brockton, he was a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Silvia) Stevens and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and with the National Guard as well. Bob served as a firefighter with the City of Brockton from 1964-1992 at Stations 1 and 7 and was a member and past secretary-treasurer for Brockton Firefighters Union Local 144. He also drove heavy equipment and trucks and delivered flowers for Holmes-McDuffy. Bob enjoyed cooking, bowling, golfing, camping, woodworking and gardening; he was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He was the beloved husband of Janet E. (Blake) Stevens since 1956; proud father of Leisa Quirk and her husband Mike of Bridgewater, Leslie Bisson and her husband Steve of Bridgewater, Lynne Rollins of Foxborough and Robyn Fernberg and her husband Tim of Bridgewater; loving “Beba” of Michael and Stephanie Quirk, Matthew Quirk, Eric Bisson, Michelle Bisson, Adam and Sarah Rollins, Corey and Ellerie Rollins, Evan Fernberg and Jordan Fernberg; great-grandfather of Greyson, Parker and Drew Rollins; brother of Fred R. Stevens of Brockton and the late Billy Stevens. Following cremation, all are welcome to his memorial calling hours Saturday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and his memorial service at 1 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton.
