Richard Toby Hurst, 77, of Brockton, died Sept. 27, 2017. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked for Lewiston Ltd., Boston Mutual Life Insurance and the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed Cape Cod and Maine. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Carfagna) Hurst for 51 years; loving father of Barry Hurst (and Mechele) and Scott Hurst BFD (and Liz), all of Brockton; grandfather of Jacqueline Sherbertes (and Mark), Nicole, Barry Jr., Ashley, Brittany, Alexandra, Valerie, Vanessa and Victoria Hurst; great-grandfather of Anastasia; brother of Robert Hurst (and Elaine) of Chestnut Hill and Sandra White of CT. All are welcome to calling hours Saturday 2-5 p.m. with closing prayers at 5 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Private committal.
