Phyllis A. (Zoino) St.George, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on March 14, 2017, on her 81st birthday. Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Albert L. St.George. Daughter of the late John A. and Rose (Centrella) Zoino, she was a lifelong resident of Brockton. During her years at Brockton High School Phyllis worked on the lunch counter at the Brockton Public Market. After graduating with the BHS Class of 1954 she received her nurses’ training at McLean Hospital School of Nursing. Phyllis began her career at the original Goddard Hospital in Brockton and retired from its Stoughton location. Though she worked in various hospital units with people of all ages she especially loved caring for the babies in the newborn nursery.

Dedicated to a home that was open to everyone, her warmth and sense of humor was a haven for her faithful friends and adored family members and her welcome extended far beyond the doorstep. She was an excellent cook whose culinary treats delighted all those who had a hearty appetite. She loved listening to music, singing favorite songs and watching American movie classics. She also enjoyed playing cards. Phyllis loved to win! She was an avid swimmer who loved her backyard pool and her Cape Cod vacation home. Phyllis took great pride in her family’s military service ranging from that of her late husband to their son, their daughter and to their four grandsons – all who have served or are currently serving in various branches of the armed forces.

Phyllis was the devoted mother of Albert L. St.George Jr. of Brockton and Stephanie Hickey of Centerville. She was the cherished grandmother of Ross, Ethan, Nolan, Shannon, Lee Hickey and Quinn Perry. She was also the great-grandmother of Grayson and Milo Hickey. Phyllis was the loving sister of John E. Zoino and his wife Marion of Orleans, William S. Zoino and his late wife Ann of Framingham, Robert F. Zoino and his wife Sonia of Bridgewater, Madelyn E. Kubiak and her late husband Arthur of Bridgewater, RoseMarie Schmitchel and her husband Sydney of Bridgewater and Richard E. Zoino and his wife Barbara of Chatham.
