Paul E. Brunelle, 93, a lifelong resident of Avon, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2018. A Bronze Star Medal recipient, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Normandy and was a member and past President of the 4th Infantry Division Association. He was a retired letter carrier in Avon, a library trustee and member of the Avon Council on Aging. He was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, and had been a Cub Scout Leader and member of the Scouts Commissioner’s staff. Paul was the beloved husband of Elizabeth G. (Crocker) Brunelle for 62 years; dear brother of Rev. Ernest Brunelle of Maryknoll, NY, Rosemary Shaffer of FL, and Elaine Nadeau of Uxbridge, and the late Claire, Jeanne, Philip, Eugene, Norman, and Thomas; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and committal at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
