Otto Karch

December 17, 1932 ~ April 26, 2018 (age 85)

Otto Karch, 85, of Randolph, was born in Otterbach, Germany on Dec. 17, 1932 and died April 26, 2018. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a skilled machinist, retiring from State Coat Front after many years of service. Otto was a close family man, enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and soccer in younger years, and loved spending time with family and friends. Proud of his roots, Otto enjoyed German music and was a member of Boylston Schul Verein in Walpole. An avid sports fan, he always cheered on his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Otto was the beloved husband of Gertrude (Schulz) Karch for 64 wonderful years; loving father of Stephan Karch and his wife Corrine of East Bridgewater and Scott Karch and his wife Melissa of Taunton; dear Opa/Papa of the very special Stephen (and Kim), Jeffrey (and Lala), Matthew (and Elizabeth), Cameron and Tyler; great-Opa of one beautiful Norah; brother of Henry Karch of Randolph, Gerhardt Karch and Lieselotte Werner, both of Germany; and an uncle of many. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
