Norma V. (Olson) Atherton, 88, of Brockton, passed away August 20, 2017. An animal lover, she had a special love for cats and always took in any little wanderers that came into her yard. She enjoyed playing cards with family, puzzles, cooking, collecting Barbie dolls, coloring books, watching old T.V. shows and game shows and playing the lottery. Norma was the wife of the late Charles P. Atherton; beloved mother of Gail A. (Atherton) Lang (and the late John Lang), John P. Atherton (and Cynthia Quiros), Walter S. Atherton (and Mary), Kevin O. Atherton (and fiancée Lorrie Jarvis), Dana C. Atherton (and Laura), and the late Charles W. Atherton; loving grandmother of John T. Lang, John Paul Paraskivas, Shelly Ann Atherton, Dana Lee Atherton, Michelle Atherton, Brian Atherton, Maria Lynn Atherton, Ryan Atherton, and Aaron Atherton; great-grandmother of Sarah A. Lang, Nicolas Paraskivas, Kyrah Atherton-Stone, Kheyan Atherton-Stone, great-great grandmother of Ava Rose; sister of the late Myrtle E. (Olson) Pingree, Anna M. (Olson) DeMaso-DeFren, Greta J. (Olson) Ransett and Carl J. Olson; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to gather on Thursday at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
