Nanci "Nanny Goat" Shorter was the first friend I made when my family moved to Belmont in 1956. She lived around the corner. We had many childhood adventures together. Nanci was ahead of her time, being independent, and a free spirit. As we got older, we traveled in different circles, but always walked to school together. We stayed in touch through the years no matter where our paths took us.

Nanci's love of family and friends, and her devotion to Christian Science is a legacy that will continue in the hearts of everyone who was touched by her dignity and grace.
