Louis “Yoyo” Orelus, 70, of Avon, passed away tragically on December 25, 2018. Born in Plaisance, Nord, Haiti, he was the son of the late Celica and Louisana (Belonie) Orelus, immigrating to the U.S. in 1986. Longtime owner and operator of Min Yoyo Store in Brockton, he was well-known and generous to his community. A man of great faith, he was a Deacon at Trinity Community Church of God. He loved to travel, frequently visiting Canada and Haiti, and going on yearly cruises. Louis was always smiling, and had many friends. He enjoyed his weekly gathering with friends on Thursday evenings. He loved hosting parties, and would elect his former wife Jacette to do all of the cooking. Louis was the beloved father of Stevenson Orelus of The Bahamas, Christelle Silver (and Michael) of Stoughton, Junior Orelus of Stoughton, and the late Vladmir Orelus and his wife Karshla of Avon; former husband and close friend of Marie Jacette (Meneus) Scialdone of Stoughton; loving grandfather of Stephon Orelus, Sadel Orelus, Jordan Orelus, Caitlin Orelus, Vance Orelus, Jah’Liah Preval, Jacob Silver, Isaac Silver, and Ivan Orelus; dear brother of Suzette Orelus and Louise Marie “Timarie” Fanfan; uncle of Herve Orelus, Farius Orelus, Altanie Fanfan, Minouche Fanfan, and Mirlaine Fanfan; great-uncle of Bibi Fanfan, Kiki Orelus, and Poun Orelus. Louis also leaves many extended family and friends. All are welcome to calling hours Friday, Jan. 4th from 5-9 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral service Saturday, Jan. 5th at 10 a.m. in The First Haitian Church of Brockton “The Rock”, 940 Main St., Brockton, visitation in the church beginning at 9 a.m. and burial at Central Cemetery, Randolph.
