Jovina Pinheiro Araujo, 102, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2019. Born in Brava, Cabo Verde, she was the daughter of the late Luis Jose and Maria Henriqueta (Azevedo) Pinheiro. Jovina immigrated to the U.S. in 1967. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. Jovina was dedicated to her family. Her love transcended many generations, as she loved to play with her great-grandchildren. Her family brought her great joy and always kept her uplifted and smiling. She will always be loved and greatly missed. Jovina was the wife of the late Adriano Araujo; beloved mother of Anselmo Araujo and his wife Dolores, Raquel Anahory and her late husband Emanuel, Olganda Pinheiro and her late husband João, Luis Jose Araujo and his wife Graciete, João Armando Araujo and his wife Denise, Adna Pereira, Abener Araujo, A. Joviano Araujo, and the late Adriano, Adla, and Palmira Henriqueta Araujo; loving grandmother of 23; great-grandmother and great-great grandmother of many. Jovina also leaves many dear extended family and friends. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday, February 21st from 9-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
