Jose R. Acevedo Mendez

Jose Ramon Acevedo Mendez, 80, of Brockton, passed away on March 2, 2019. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Ramon Acevedo and Josefina Mendez. He was hardworking and was a skilled carpenter for many years until his retirement. Jose was the devoted husband of Sor E. Barreto; beloved father of Jose Acevedo, Javier Acevedo, Jaime Acevedo, Felix Borrero, Mabel Valdez, and Maribel Arias; and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather of many. Jose also leaves many dear extended family and friends. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday, March 6th from 9-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
