John J. Phinney

John J. Phinney, 72, of Brockton, formerly of Easton, passed away April 11, 2018. John was a retired furniture salesman and had worked at Levitz, Jordan’s and Bob’s furniture stores. John enjoyed fishing, boating to Bassett’s Island, and trips to Castle Island and casinos. John was the beloved husband of Joanna (Anderson) Phinney for 50 years; loving father of Michelle Langlais of Attleboro and Suzanne Botelho and her husband Robert Botelho Jr. of Canton; devoted grandfather of twins Isabella and Robert Anthony Botelho; brother of Constance Rhodes of Monroe LA; and uncle of Victoria, Thomas, John and the late Henry Kane; and son of the late Victoria Marshall and John Phinney. Following cremation, all are welcome to gather at 12 noon on Thursday, April 19 for a 12:30 p.m. memorial service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St.  Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Diabetes Association.
