Helen V. (Scott) Ferguson, 82, of Brockton and North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born to the late Don and Georgia (Williams) Scott on October 10, 1935 in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Helen was a loving mother and homemaker who resided in Massachusetts and Delaware for many years, until returning to North Carolina to care for ailing relatives. Helen was a dedicated worker for many years at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, as well as in the Lenoir furniture industry. Helen Strived to give her children a better life by relocating them to Massachusetts in search of better opportunities, which all of her children are appreciative of.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years Thomas Hopkins; son Thomas Jay Ferguson; and her four siblings, George Washington Williams, Catherine Suddreth, Bill Scott and Annie Mae Scott.
Survivors include her seven children, Barbara Scott, Donald Scott, Tina Scott-Cody, Brenda McMillian, Louis Ferguson, Catherine Louis, and Dean Ferguson; along with twenty-four grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
All are welcome to gather on Monday, July 2nd at 12 noon for a 1 p.m. memorial service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.
