Gretchen L. "Candy" (Johnson) Hester, 70, of Canton, native of Boston, Massachusetts passed away on April 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a talented seamstress, published author and graphic artist but her passion was in clothing for herself, family and friends and also making dolls. Gretchen was the sister of Beverly Noiles, Alfred Noiles and Eugene Gomes, all of Georgia, Elaine Grant of Virginia, Tyrone Kendall of California, Joyce Jones of Massachusetts, Mary Kelly of Massachusetts, and the late Donald Noiles, Irene Noiles and Phyllis Allen; Godmother of Wendy Hall of Connecticut. Gretchen also leaves to mourn a host of nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours  on Thursday, May 4th 2-4 pmand service 4-6 pm at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Repast to follow at the Enterprise Club, 224 Clinton St., Brockton. Private committal.
